Can HGH really help to restore youth?

Wednesday 30 April 2008 @ 6:54 pm

The human growth hormone or HGH for short, is a substance produced by the pituitary gland, which has been found to play an important role in the biological aging cycle. Although much hyped as an elixir of youth, HGH is really not a miracle cure of any sort.

It just so happens that the pituitary gland cuts back on producing HGH once adulthood is reached. And with increasing age, the amount of HGH that gets produced steadily dwindles. Along with this decline in production, all kinds of aging symptoms start to show up at the door, making larger inroads.

This is why, adding back some of the lost former levels of HGH has shown a lot of promise in many tests done so far. And that’s why restoring HGH levels seems to make a lot of positive difference in aging bodies. That is the medical premise of HGH.

More On Acid Reflux Information

Tuesday 29 April 2008 @ 6:41 pm

If you are suffering from acid reflux then you need to know what you are up against. You can do something about this but it’s going to take a little education and some patience on your part. Acid reflux is something you can treat and get relieve from if you know where to start. So let us get started in your quest to conquer acid reflux once and for all.

Acid reflux disorder, sometimes called heartburn is a condition where stomach contents flow back up the esophagus. This is a condition relating to the digestive system and although referred to by other names almost all the symptoms are similar in nature. Hydrochloric acid is used by the digestive system to break down the food we eat. The burning sensation experienced by sufferers of this disorder is caused by the stomachs digestive fluid attempting to return up the esophagus.

Acid Reflux Information

Food is normally trapped in the stomach by the lower esophageal valve after it has passed through to stop this problem. When the valve refuses to close as it should, the acid escapes back up the esophagus, producing the problem known as acid reflux. This condition is also known as GERD which is the shortened version of the correct medical name: gastroesophageal reflux disorder. Unfortunately the exact cause of acid reflux condition remains a mystery, but it is believed an individual’s diet is primarily to blame; overeating could also add to the problem and cause unnecessary stress on the stomach and its ability to process food.

Food and Acid Reflux and here for Acid Reflux Symptoms.

Many people that overeat find they have this condition because their eating habits affect the stomach walls and place pressure on the muscles surrounding them. The release of this ‘pressure’ results in the stomach acids trying to flow back up the digestive tract. Since this valve protects your esophagus from your stomach acid, you need to take care this valve does not allow digested acidic food to pass back into the esophagus. To prevent this from happening you should eat small meals throughout the day. The stomach is the doorway to the body’s health so it needs to be treated with respect. The stomach carries out not only the breaking down of food but processing it into nutrients that can be absorbed by the body.

Whilst an immediate solution may be to use the well advertised acid calming drugs available they are not designed for long term usage. These can create additional nutritional deficiencies and disease that a doctor may have a problem when diagnosing the cause. The long term approach to reduce the stomach problems and acid reflux is to adjust how you consume food and drink. The idea is not to overload your stomach, which will give it time to recover. If you can reduce the heartburn occurrences, in time you may well be able to slowly start eating those dishes that have needed to be cut out.

Of course acid reflux can also be aggravated by a number of other situations; for instance:

* Smoking
* Food allergies
* Prescription medication
* Drinking to much alcohol
* Having a sleep after eating a meal

All of these factors are within your control and it only requires a change of habits and behavior on your part. The number of heartburn episodes that occur should diminish. This is how you may be able to clear your acid reflux disorder completely. No-one can force you to change but improvements to your life are within your control.

Remember that not every one reacts the same to treatments and what works for you may not work for me. The trick to this is not to give up and keep trying things until you find relief from the symptom of this disease. Good luck in your quest.

Dpa For Soft And Plaque Free Arteries

Tuesday 29 April 2008 @ 11:16 am

Seal Oil can supply up to ten times more DPA than fish oils for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease. About one third of the omega 3 fatty acids in the human blood is attributable to DPA for a healthy heart. It has been found that EPA is the key to producing prostaglandin for keeping the artery walls soft and free of plaque,thereby preventing cardiovascular disease. However, it’s been found that DPA may be ten to twenty times more powerful than EPA forHeart Health . Harp Seal Oil is the only supplement rich in natural
Omega 3 ,necessary for the prevention of heart attacks. With the exception of Seal Oil the highest incidence of DPA is in human breast milk.
According to several studies deficiencies in Omega 3 PUFA’s such as DPA may result in impaired development of visual acuity and motor skills. Omega 3 PUFA’s have a direct effect on the heart muscle, increases blood flow, decrease arrhythmias (irregular rhythm of heart beat ) , improve arterial compliance, decrease the size of the infarct and reduce several cellular processes that compromise heart function.
Omega 3 can reduce the risk of cardiac arrest, research has indicated , by up to 70% by reducing blood vessel blockages. Dr. Leof has found that Omega 3 PUFA’s can prevent sudden death from irregular heart beats following a heart attack. Other studies show that a diet rich in Omega 3 can reduce chances of a second fatal heart attack by up to 30%. These results are because Omega3 makes the walls of the blood vessel soft, thus preventing blockages,which are often the cause of heart problems
A study from the UK shows that up to 80 % of schizophrenics are deficient in fatty acids like Omega3.
Omega3 deficiency has also been linked to depression and mental deterioration. Omega3 also offers anti inflammatory relief for arthritis sufferers.Many studies now point to Omega3 being invaluable in combating circulatory problems associated with diabetes,by rendering the walls of the veins and arteries smoother and more elastic. Omega3 has also been proven toreduce high cholesterol.
Nucell Canada Provides the highest quality Omega3 available for keeping the arteries soft and plaque free. It is 100% mercury free!

Skin Care Tips

Tuesday 29 April 2008 @ 12:13 am

If you love your skin you should take care of it. Your skin can be damaged by many factors and the weather is just one of them. The sun is the biggest culprit when it comes to skin care and anti-aging. Many people still tan in spite of all the proof about how bad it can be for you skin.

Skin Care Advice

In recent years an alternative to regular tanning has been to use sun-beds or booths; it has become the way to ensure a tan twelve months of the year. We should all now be aware of the dangers of too much sun (skin cancer) and a number of alternatives are showing success in the market to counteract these health issues. The latest method proving very popular (owing to its speed) is spray tanning as it only requires a single application. Other oils and creams that can produce a fake tan have been available for a long time but the effect they provide is not always consistent.

Just to provide an even more convenient service, manufacturers have introduced spray tanning equipment that can be used in the home. Whichever method you decide upon there are some simple but basic steps needed to ensure the best effect. First off, you should exfoliate your skin to remove any dead skin. Fake tan applications that have been done without this vital step are easy to spot as the recipient has light patches in the tan where the dead skin has fallen of.

To complete this part of the preparation, the skin needs to be moist and ready to accept the tan so a good skin moisturizer will need to be applied all over. A common problem especially in the early days of self tanning creams, although it doesn’t happen quite as much now, was to forget to wear gloves when applying the tan which meant that the palms turned orange and let everyone know the tan was a fake. Also, apply lighter coats on the joints of your fingers, your knees, and your elbows as these areas will appear darker if you do not and the same applies to your feet. If you are using a spray tanning method then you will need an old towel to wipe any excess fluid away to stop streaking.

Always stay as still as possible after artificial tanning to allow time for the application to settle down and create an even coating. Don’t forget to wear some old clothes as fake tan is notorious for staining almost anything it touches. The best advice here is to have a change of clothing that is darker than the color of the tan as this way it will not notice. If you remember these few rules you should find that alternative systems can be very effective and look just like the real thing.

Using Essential Oils As An Aphrodisiac

Monday 28 April 2008 @ 6:07 pm

Aphrodisiac is a term that we have all heard, however the vision it provokes is not always accurate. Many hear about aphrodisiacs and assume this means that if you take them you will suddenly be hit with an over whelming urge to jump into bed with the first person that crosses your path. This is of course not the case.

Aphrodisiac named for the Greek goddess of Sensuality Aphrodite is an agent or substance which is said to increase sexual arousal or sexual desire. There is an on going debate as to whether or not aphrodisiacs actually exist and have the power to kick our sexual virility into over drive.

It is well documented as well as first hand knowledge for most individuals that mental and emotional state has a large impact on how randy one may or may not feel. For a great number of individuals if you are stressed, depressed, angry, or just down in the dumps the last thing you want is to have a romantic or sexual rendezvous. If you are feeling great and on top of the world sexual intimacy is a lot more appealing.

Whatever mechanism is at work many essential oils are believed to give your sexual vitality a boost in the right direction. A few of the essential oils with these aphrodisiac properties are:

1. Ylang Ylang essential oil which has a mysterious spicy scent is effective in both relaxing and up lifting the body, mind and spirit. It has been widely used for centuries as an aphrodisiac. This essential oil can be implemented for this purpose by adding approximately 10 drops to your bath water or by adding 2 or 3 drops to a diffuser.

2. Geranium essential oil known as the women’s oil because of its menstrual and menopausal benefits is also toted as being a great aphrodisiac. Again to use this essential oil simply add it to your bath water or put some scent in the air by using a diffuser.

3. Neroli essential oil made from the blossoms of an orange tree is also used as an aphrodisiac. Use it in your bath, diffuser or mix four to five drops into your favorite carrier oil and have a massage.

4. Sandalwood essential oil is reminiscent of the orient with its sensual musky scent. To use as an aphrodisiac add eight to ten drops of the oil to your bath or put a few drops in a diffuser.

If you choose to add an essential oil to your bath water always add the drops once you have finished running the water. If you add the drops behind the scent will be evaporated before you are ready to get in and enjoy. Also make sure that you thoroughly agitate the water with your hands to ensure that the oil is mixed in and not sitting in a little clump on top.

How aphrodisiacs work is unclear but one thing you can count on is you will not be disappointed with the results of aromatherapy and essential oils. At the very least you will feel energized, clear headed, stress free and ready to take on the world.
